The everlasting trend: Denim

Today I'm going to talk about the trend that will never die out, the trend that you probably have at least one item of in your wardrobe and the trend that is forever changing each year: what is it you ask? Denim, of course.

Now whether you own lots of denim attire or very little, it's undeniably one of the most versatile garments a girl (and boy) can own - whether it be in the form of jeans, dungarees, jackets, pinafores, shorts.. etc - we all have them.

And guess what? Denim is going to be even bigger and better this Autumn/Winter, because mod culture, from one of my favourite era's, the 1980s, has been revived and the likes of MOM jeans, head-to-toe washed out denim and chunky biker boots are back and I am FAR too excited about it.

I've made a little outfit below of how I would wear the 1980's acid wash denim look:

1.   2.   3.

However, there are many other ways to wear denim: many of these ways worn perfectly by the Queen of style, Miss Alexa Chung. She's undeniably one of the only girls on the planet that can pull off ANY given trend, including the trend many of us fear - double denim.

But the look I love the most on Alexa is the effortlessly chic denim pinafore she has been seen sporting more than once. Below, I've replicated an "Alexa style" outfit, pinafore and all:

1.  2.  3.

How much of a bargain is the denim pinafore? TEN POUNDS.
Now I just need Alexa's face and body to match.

I hope this post has given you a few ideas and ways in to which you can wear denim in the future, and if you manage to pull off double denim like Alexa herself - I want pictures!

If you're still feeling a wee bit lost, go and take a peek at the New Look Denim Campaign - where you are given a step by step guide of the different shapes, styles and designs the world of denim has to offer.
