Scout Vintage Launch Night

A few days ago I was contacted on Twitter by the lovely Iraa from RGB Media asking if I would like to attend the launch night of a brand new vintage shop in Sunderland City Centre - only a crazy lady would refuse that offer! So, after excitedly saying yes I headed out the next day to buy a new outfit for the do.

This is what I bought:
Midnight blue pleated skirt: Primark £10
White "pleather" platform loafers - Bank £8

And here's a cheeky OOTN taken on my phone.

I went to the event with Amy-Lauren as we only live about 5 minutes away from the store (lucky us). We were greeted by Iraa upon arrival, who then offered us a glass of wine (which ended up being many glasses of wine by the end of the night!)

We were then asked to take a look around the shop and explore the vast array of amazing vintage pieces on show, such as vintage Burberry trench coats for around £50 and I even spotted a vintage yellow Chanel crop top in the mix for a tiny £24.95!

After browsing through all of the lovely clothes Scout Vintage has to offer, we were told that we had the chance to partake in a vintage scavenger hunt within the shop. The idea was: that if we found a garment with a shiny gold sticker on the tag, it was ours to keep.

And guess what? Lucky little me (for once) found one!
I won some super sassy pink genie pants, wa-hay!

I was also given a little goody bag with a little polkadot wrapped parcel inside. Inside the parcel was a fab Scout Vintage T-Shirt, which I haven't taken off all day - well, only for photo purposes.

After the scavenger hunt, I finally got a chance to speak to the lovely lady who brought Scout Vintage to life - Angela Kirtley. We had a big chat about the shop, our love for vintage pieces and how Angela likes to keep her shop as cheap and as cheerful as possible!

Another person I got to meet at the event was Amiee, creator of Dwight & Eve, who specialises in handmade clothing and various vintage garments and one-offs. We were all lucky enough to see a few clothes in Scout Vintage that Amiee had made herself and we were told that Dwight & Eve clothing would be available in the shop as well as the usual clothes sourced by Angela.

All in all, the launch night was such a great way to get to know everyone involved in Scout Vintage and knowing that I have a shop 5 minutes away that sells Levi's for £9.95 is just FABULOUS.

If you live in the North East, please go check out Scout Vintage. It isn't none of that recycled 2003 Primark shiz from Oxfam, it's the real deal. And a bloody good percentage cheaper than Camden market too (even though I do love you, Camden, I do.)
