Girls Night In

As many of you may know, I've just finished my first year of studying Fashion Journalism at University - which means yes, I am a student and yes, I do like a good night out with a few too many cocktails and jรคgerbombs.

However, as my freshers remains a distant (yet hilarious) memory, many of my favourite memories were made the night after the evening before. Those nights where me and my flat mates would wear onesie's all day and night, eat copious amounts of takeaway to soak up the previous night's drinks - Domino's, I'm looking at you - and watch hours upon hours of chick flicks, Harry Potter and Desperate Housewives.

According to a recent survey by Ladbrokes Bingo, almost 70% of girls now prefer a cosy night in than a night twerking on the dancefloor with friends. 36% of North East ladies agreed that being leered at by men was one of the main reasons a good night out can be ruined, as well as a further 57% of girls saying that paying to get into a bar always puts a downer on a night out.

Personally, I love both a good night out (I'm a student, okay?) and a cosy night in.

Although, a girls night in is one of the best ways to have a good catch-up with your girl friends and chat about men, sex and relationships, with 55% of us doing so. Even when we're not with men, we can't stop talking about them! Plus, you can't hear all the latest gossip and have a good natter when Swedish House Mafia songs are pumping in your ears can you?

However, despite my love for a good night in with the girls; for now, nothing does compare to a good student night out. With drinks at 50p, who can complain? It gives me an excuse to buy new clothes, get dressed up and have good fun with my uni friends.

Maybe one day I'll start settling down and replacing my nights out with nights in (the survey says 20% settle down at the age of 25) but hey, my mum's still going strong!
