Wear Your Sunday Best - Newcastle Fashion Week

After a busy weekend with the likes of Newcastle Fashion Weekend at the Northumbria Student Union and the North East Bloggers Lush event at the Gateshead Metro Centre, myself and the blogger girls were exhausted! But... we had one more event to go - and little did we know, it was the best one yet!

A few weeks ago, myself, Amy-Lauren and Katy were contacted by the lovely people at Wear Your Sunday Best (WYSB) asking us to come along to their vintage lingerie catwalk, that was part of a Newcastle Fashion Week fringe event as VIP's - did we say yes? Of course we did. You only have to say the word "vintage" to us and we're squee-ing with joy!

Up on arrival at the event, we were meeted and greeted and sent through to the show-room along with our +1's (Libby, Aileen and Melissa) where we were amazed by the hard-work put into the event! The chairs were covered in white fabric, tied with lace bows. Each pair of seats were accompanied with a table, offering cupcakes and cider in teacups (what more could you want?!), white candle holders were also on the tables. We reached our seats and were met with a programme for NFW and WYSB, a cake-pop from Nanipops (it was heavenly), a little trinket box full of sweeties and a lovely little package with some false eyelashes from NDMakeup who also did the models vintage-style make-up on the night!

The lingerie worn by the models was from the amazingly sexy (can I say that?) company - The House of Seduction based in Tynemouth. The company not only does vintage lingerie though, they do swimsuits and bikinis too! So, if you're a bit like me and think you was born in the wrong era and strive every day to be Dita Von Teese, seriously go to their shop in Tynemouth and buy everything - it's all so beautiful!

The fantastic event was finished off by an amazing live performance from Scarlet Street - a female vocal harmony group, who actually blew me away. The girls were all dressed up in 1950's attire and sang two songs including "Mr Sandman", which I will pop a clip below of them singing (the video is from the group's Youtube channel, not from the event.)

I hope you enjoyed reading (and listening!)
I can't wait for the next WYSB and THOS event now!

Have you been to any Newcastle Fashion Week events?

  1. I'm so jealous of this event, looks right up my street! I love the vintage theme!
